Dave Wiggins has been working as a professional entertainer for over 30 years, learning his original craft as a bassist, guitarist and vocalist in various musical duos and bands, and also as a solo act. His passion for entertainment began at young age but it wasn't until he formed and devised a theatrical and musical tribute show in 2002, in which he still performs as a character actor, that he had the realisation that his passion for the arts could indeed become a successful career. In his career he has performed in excess of 2500 live shows in various productions around the world.

 

In 2008 Dave began teaching Music and Performing Arts (part-time) in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school working with young people with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. From there he later moved to a different SEN school and across the two placements his teaching was observed as 'outstanding' by OFSTED on multiple occasions.

 

In 2016 he returned to education, this time as a student - graduating in 2019 with a first-class BA (Hons) degree in Performing Arts and then a subsequent Masters Degree (with distinction) in Screen Performance in 2020.  At this point Dave was being offered a range of acting jobs and signed a contract with an agent for 'Spotlight' actor representation. This has seen him undertake a range of acting roles including a small part on ITV's 'The Bay'.

 

Since graduating from the University of Bedfordshire, Dave has worked as a lecturer in Creative Industries at Cambridge Regional College and currently also lectures students on the Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma Performing Arts and Production Arts Courses at North Herts College, Hitchin..

 

BigWig Productions was formed in 2022 as a means of combining all of Dave's Creative works, visions and ventures into a central hub. With a huge network of creative performers, educators producers and associates, BigWig Productions are able to offer a wide variety of Arts and Entertainment resources for artists, creatives and consumers alike.
